JAKARTA - Saul Canelo Alvarez and Jarmell Charlo will meet on the world boxing agenda which will be held at the T Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, United States. The second fight will take place on Sunday, October 1 at 09.00 WIB.

Charlo accepted Canelo's challenge on condition that it was not easy. He had to go up two levels at once for the sake of this fight.

Previously, Charlo held the undisputed junior middleweight (69 kg) champion status, also successfully won the WBC title since 2019, then WBA (Super), IBF and Ring since 2020, then WBO starting 2022.

In order to realize his determination to win in the match against Canelo, Charlo even tried to increase his weight to 14 pounds or equivalent to 76 kg.

The 35 wins are impressive provisions for the orthodox-style boxer in order to overthrow the opponent.

Charlo's efforts to go up two levels after this match are considered full of risks by boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. He is of the opinion about the risks that arise because he had experience going up two classes when he defeated John Ruiz in the WBA heavyweight in 2003.

"You don't know how your body will react to it (to increase weight drastically). Jumping up one class is a good thing, but if you jump two classes, it's a little difficult," said former dunua boxer Roy Jones Jr., quoted by Boxing News 24 on Friday, September 29.

Although it is considered a high risk, many estimate that Charlo will be able to face Canelo impressively. This is because Canelo is said to have experienced a decline in performance, especially in the last two duels, against John Ryder and Gennadify Golovkin, which were determined by the jury's decision.

The fight is expected to be exciting because Canelo Alvarez has the undisputed status of a super middleweight (76 kg) champion. Later, the winner of the duel will get a special belt from the World Boxing Council (WBC), namely the Puebla belt.
