Stanley Tjia Reveals The Importance Of An Esports Referee At Cambodian SEA Games 2023
JAKARTA - It's not only coaches and athletes who have an important role in every esports match around the world, but the role of the referee is just as important as other elements.
"In the past, there were almost no esports referees, so people just pulled out, even at one of the big events like WCG, there were no technical and official delegations, so everyone was just watching and knowing the game," Technical Delegate at Cambodian SEA Games 2023, Stanley Tjia in his latest interview with PBESI.
The task of Stanley himself is to prepare all kinds of things that athletes need, both from mobile devices, and PC specs, and also to adjust the rules made by the organizers of the SEA Games.
On the other hand, Stanley also revealed that referees have an important duty to determine the standardization of rules in major events, both on a national and international scale.
"Why do you need a referee in the game, because you need to standardize all kinds of rules, whether it's the standardization of the main game league which is adjusted by each country for international events," Stanley explained. "Also to discuss all kinds of rules that will be adjusted to the course of the event."
Stanley continued, that referees have their respective levels such as match referees, national referees, judges, or technical delegates. And each of these levels is necessary to adjust the rules of the game.
