Clean Water Is Still A Problem At IKN Nusantara, North Penajam Paser DPRD Asks Government To Move
EAST KALIMANTAN- The DPRD of North Penajam Paser Regency (PPU) hopes that the clean water problem in Sepaku Sub-district, which is designated as the core area of the National Capital (IKN) of Nusantara, will soon be resolved.
"We ask the district government and the central government to immediately resolve the clean water problem in the IKN Nusantara area," said Deputy Chair II of the PPU Regency DPRD, Hartono Basuki in PPU Regency, East Kalimantan (Kaltim), as quoted from Antara, Tuesday, October 25.
There are still many people in Sepaku Subdistrict who are not covered by clean water services. The Regional Public Company (Perumda) for Danum Taka Drinking Water, PPU Regency, relies solely on drilled wells.
So during the dry season, said Hartono, people have difficulty getting water and during the rainy season sometimes the water conditions are cloudy.
It is hoped that with the new Indonesian IKN, the fulfillment of clean water needs can be resolved, especially since the central government is currently building a dam and water intake in Sepaku District.

The addition of clean water production capacity in Sepaku District is a step by the district government to overcome the problems of the basic needs of the community.
Although the addition of the production capacity of the clean water of the Sepaku WTP has not been able to serve the entire community in the IKN) Nusantara area.
"Not all kelurahan and villages in Sepaku have access to clean water services, but the addition of clean water production capacity is an effort to overcome the problem of clean water," Hartono explained.
The PPU Regency Legislature (DPRD) appreciates the efforts of the district government, by increasing the clean water production capacity of the Sepaku WTP, more people are served with clean water.
