Wow! BPOM Ambon Finds 15,190 Cosmetic Packaging Not Meeting The Provisions In 14 Facilities

AMBON - The Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) in Ambon found 303 items or 15,190 cosmetic packages that did not meet the provisions.

Thousands of cosmetic packaging were found by BPOM officers in 14 TMK cosmetic distribution facilities in the BPOM Ambon work area with a value of IDR 170.77 million.

Head of BPOM Ambon Hermanto said the findings of cosmetic products were 63 items or 250 packages of expired cosmetics with a value of IDR

"There are four non-cosmetic products (TIE Traditional Medicines) (127 packages) with a value of IDR 1.6 million", he explained in Ambon, quoted from Antara, Thursday, August 4.

Most of the types of TMK cosmetics found, in fact, almost all of them were make-up preparations, and traditional medicinal preparations of TMK were liquid preparations for external drugs, powders, and antiseptics.

The number of cosmetic distribution facilities that have been inspected is 38 facilities, 24 facilities or 67 percent meet the provisions (MK), and 14 facilities, or 37 percent do not meet the provisions (TMK).

The types of facilities examined consisted of 5 percent self-service, 8 percent salon, 8 percent online shop, and 79 percent shop or kiosk.

He stated that the follow-up to the results of the supervision of 14 TMK cosmetic distribution facilities was given a warning.

Meanwhile, TMK's cosmetic and traditional medicinal products were destroyed by the owner of the distribution facility, witnessed by officers.

Hermanto added that various efforts were made to reduce the level of illegal cosmetic circulation in the context of protecting the public from health risks due to the use of cosmetics with TMK.
