MGPA Ensures That The Repaving Of The Mandalika Circuit Is Completed Today

JAKARTA – Deputy Director of the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA), Cahyadi Wanda, confirmed that the process of re-paving the Mandalika Circuit was completed today.

The re-paving of the pride of Indonesia's circuit was previously estimated to be completed on March 10 at the earliest. However, the MGPA hopes it can be completed faster.

“If the weather is safe, it should be finished today (March 8). Only we still have time. Even though it's finished on the 10th, it's also not a problem, but we hope it will be finished as soon as possible", Cahyadi said when met by the media crew in Jakarta, Tuesday.

The process of re-paving part of the Mandalika track began on Saturday, March 5 last. The re-paving is carried out in stages with the asphalt area divided into five segments.

This repair was carried out on the recommendation of Dorna Sport and the International Motorcycle Federation (FIM). The recommendations given were based on the results of the evaluation after the pre-season test which took place on February 11-13.

Cahyadi said that his party will speed up the work process so that it can be completed on schedule. Finishing on time allows the MGPA to have free time to anticipate other worst possibilities.

“Because if it is according to schedule, we can anticipate the presence of dust, dirt. Everything can be eliminated with this preparation. But if you are in a hurry, it's dangerous for us. So what we are doing now is getting everything done on time", said Cahyadi.
