JAKARTA Apple will add many new features on iOS 18 based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) thanks to Apple Intelligence. Some of the new features that will be seen on this OS are Image Playground and Genmoji.

These two features have been introduced in the 2024 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) so many are waiting, but the beta version of iOS 18 and iOS 18.1 does not feature these two features. Reportedly, the Image Playground and Genmoji will be added to iOS 18.2.

Reporting from 9to5mac, these two features are expected to be available in the beta version iOS 18.2 in October and the stable version may be released in December. However, there is a possibility that the stable version of these two features will only be launched early next year.

The Playground image is a feature that Apple designed to create AI images in three styles, namely Animation, Illustration, and Sketches. The resulting images can still be created using available categories such as accessories, themes, venues, and costumes.

All images created in Image Playground can be saved into the Photo or File application. Meanwhile, Genmoji is a new feature for creating special emojis based on commands. This feature will accelerate the creation of creative emojis.

Genmoji can be entered into text so that the emoji created will look like the keyboard's built-in normal emoji. Apple also provides a Genmoji API for developers who want to enter this feature into their app.

If applications such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, X, and other applications that support message exchange do not support the use of Genmoji, this feature cannot be used as an emoji. However, users can still upload emojis in image form.
