JAKARTA - According to a report from a local news source, MLive, Steel State University in Michigan plans to register two artificial intelligence (AI) students in this year's classes. This open experiment can produce the first machine learning agent to earn titles through classroom education.

Professor of themasy State association, Kasey Thompson, lead researcher at the AI student experiment, told MLive that the machines would be given the same opportunities as their human counterparts.

"Just like every student, our hope is that they will continue their educational experience as far as possible, until they reach a PhD degree," Thompson said.

While this may sound like a publicity attraction, there are several reasons why such an experiment could have a significant potential impact on AI and education.

With more college courses organized as an online/in-person hybrid class experience, the dynamics of university life are changing rapidly. While surveying human students and learning their experiences can provide useful information to researchers, AI "students" can bring a different perspective - although not humans - who can uncover opportunities to improve college experience for human students.

Artificial Intelligence on the Experimental Campus does not involve robots or telepresence mechanisms. This AI system will "observe" the class via audio and video.

Initially, according to the report, they would only be observers. However, the plan is for them to finally participate in classroom discussions, submit written tasks, and basically meet other standard requirements as students towards their respective titles.

Thompson told MLive that the university hopes to obtain useful data that can be used to "nfluence every aspect of the university, from admission to registration," implying that the machines will be tasked with participating in the university recognition process.
