Jakarta, Bandung, And Surabaya Enter The 50 Best Culinary Destinations In The World

JAKARTA - Indonesia has made another proud achievement in the eyes of the world. Several cities in Indonesia, namely Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya, have made it into the 50 best culinary destinations in the world according to the Taste Atlas version for the 2024-2025 period.

Quoting from VN Express, Monday, December 30, 2024, the list released by Taste Atlas attracted 477,287 user voices from 17,073 cities, representing the highest-ranked dish among 15,478 local specialty foods.

The city of Jakarta is ranked 16th, with an average score of 4.69 from the highest assessment figure of 5. Bandung is ranked 32nd and Surabaya is ranked 34th.

Several typical Indonesian foods were also distributed by Taste Atlas, which will be easy to find in the three cities. Starting from uduk rice, gado-gado, chicken porridge, to betawi soup.

Meanwhile, several other Asian countries are also included in the list of the 50 best culinary destinations by Taste Atlas. Some of these countries are Vietnam and Singapore.

Singapore ranks 22nd on the list. The country's flagship culinary delights are char kway teaw, Hainan chicken rice, beef kway teaw, serin shrimp, and chili crab.

For Vietnam, Hanoi, the capital city of the country is in 40th place, with an average score of 4.5 out of 5. Some of the city's typical foods that must be tried are cha gio, bun cha, Bun rieu, and bun oc.
