JAKARTA - Volkswagen introduced its first car equipped with voice assistants to integrate ChatGPT technology at the CES Electronic Exhibition in Las Vegas on Monday, January 8. The feature allows drivers to listen to the content they have taken for them during the trip.
This chatbot, integrated through a partnership with Cerence Inc., can control the entertainment features in the car and answer general questions. In the future, this chatbot can talk to the driver and interact in other ways, the automaker said in a statement.

Volkswagen stated that they were the first volume producers to make this technology a standard feature in their compact segment cars. In March last year, GM announced that they were working on virtual personal assistants using artificial intelligence models behind ChatGPT.
Mercedes-Benz also ran a trial program in June last year that allowed around 900,000 vehicles equipped with the "MBUX" system from the automaker to download ChatGPT, with the hope that end users can perform tasks such as making movie or restaurant reservations while driving.
