JAKARTA - You must often find gamers who sometimes say harsh words in a chat, be it in the form of text or direct voice.

Activision has finally taken it a step further to deal with these "toxic" gamers by launching an updated reporting feature in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.

"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is the first title in the franchise to introduce an overhauled in-game reporting system, giving players more ways to report offensive behavior and new features for our moderation team to combat toxicity," the developer wrote in an announcement shared on Twitter.

Activison says that the improved system will allow its moderation team to restrict player features in response to confirmed player reports, as part of their security policy.

"If a verified player is engaged in offensive voice chat, for example, our system upgrade now allows the moderation team to mute that player globally from all in-game voice chat features."

Additionally, this updated system will also be able to restrict the text chat feature for players, should Activision's moderation team discover abuse of global chat in the game.

These features will also roll out with Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 later this year and are the basis for all future Call of Duty titles.

"This new reporting system and moderation feature is thanks to the hard work of Infinity Ward, High Moon Studios, Sledgehammer Games, Demonware, Treyarch, and Activision Player Support and more."
