His House Was Burglarized, World Cup Medal Gone, Pogba: Most Importantly My Kids Are OK

JAKARTA – Paul Pogba's house was burglarized. The medal he got when he brought France to the 2018 World Cup in Russia disappeared along with several other memorabilia.

The thief broke into Pogba's house on March 15 last week. At that time the France international was defending Manchester United against Atletico Madrid in the second leg of the European Champions League last 16 at Old Trafford.

"There's jewelry from my mother. My world champion medal," Pogba told French newspaper Le Figaro on Tuesday.

At the time of the incident, Pogba's children were in the house sleeping. Their nanny heard of the thief's actions, but could not do much.

"He heard everything, called my wife and security, then locked himself with my son in a room. For a few days, he was shocked. Most importantly my children are okay," Pogba said.

The 29-year-old won the 2018 World Cup with France after they beat Croatia 4-2 in the final. Pogba contributed one goal in that match.

He recorded playing as many as 539 minutes during the prestigious event. The former Juventus player only missed one time when France in the last group stage match against Denmark.

Meanwhile, he always played the full 90 minutes in five matches and was substituted once in the 89th minute against Peru in the second match of the group stage.

Pogba was named in the France squad for friendlies against Ivory Coast on Friday this week and South Africa on March 29.
