Asian Champions League Schedule 2 Delays League 1 Continuation Week, Persib Gets Profits

JAKARTA - Persib Bandung claimed to benefit from the schedule for the continuation of the 2024/2025 Liga 1 competition which was postponed due to coincidence with the holding of the Asian League 2.

Maung Bandung is actually scheduled to fight Bali United in the 12th week of Liga 1 2024/2025, 1 December 2024. However, PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) as the operator of the competition postponed the match to 7 January 2025.

Meanwhile, on November 28, 2024, Persib is also scheduled to appear in an away match against Port FC in Bangkok in the continued match of the Asian Champions League 2.

With the postponement of the schedule against Bali United, Persib clearly benefited. According to Rachmat Irianto, who is a Maung Bandung midfielder, this is an opportunity for the players to have a longer recovery and preparation time.

"Yes, that's good, (about the competition schedule) for safety for friends. So, rest is also important for players. If it is forced to be dangerous, it can be prone to injury," said Rachmat Irianto in a statement quoted on Tuesday, November 26, 2024.

Looking at the nearest match, namely away to Port FC headquarters, Rachmat Irianto ensured his readiness for the match later.

He also said that the Maung Bandung squad was in good condition to achieve maximum results in Thailand.

"Of course the condition of all good friends and healthy. Yes, of course we focus on stealing points because there are many losses (poins) in this Asian tournament," said Rachmat.

He also admitted that he was optimistic that Persib could win in the match later. Moreover, Bojan Hodak's team is in a positive trend, both in Liga 1 and the Asian Champions League 2.

"Every match is optimistic to get the three points," he said again.

Persib is currently in third place in the Asian Champions League 2 standings with four points from four matches. While in Liga 1 standings, Maung Bandung is in second place with 23 points, only one point difference from the leader of the standings, Persebaya Surabaya.
