JAKARTA – The jet ski touring activity to Kelor Island, Seribu Islands, to start the 2024 Panglima Cup Jetski Championship series has successfully broken the MURI (Indonesian Record Museum) record.
The tour with TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto with a social agenda of distributing basic necessities and planting breadfruit and mangrove seedlings as a participation in nature conservation was attended by 100 jet ski participants. This number has set a MURI record.
Agus in his speech stated that the purpose of this activity was to strengthen ties, togetherness, and improve the achievements and sportsmanship of jet ski athletes, TNI soldiers, Polri, and the community.
"This activity is a parameter for the success of coaching national and even international athletes as well as seeking and finding potential athletes who have the potential to excel," he said in a statement.
The 2024 Panglima Cup Jetski was held in collaboration with the Indonesia Jetsport Boating Association (IJBA). IJBA is the only parent organization for jet ski sports in Indonesia.
TNI Commander Agus Subiyanto advised the athletes to continue to strive to be the best and always uphold the spirit of unity and togetherness during this event.
"Achieve the best achievements, avoid disgraceful actions that can disrupt the smooth running of the competition. We prioritize the spirit of unity and togetherness so that TNI solidity and solidarity are created as the goal of this activity," he said.
There are a total of five numbers competed in this championship, namely Time Attack (Time Speed) Runabout Stock Box/OEM, Beginner Runabout Stock Box/OEM, Junior Runabout Stock Box/OEM, Novice Runabout Stock Box/OEM and Amateur Runabout Box/OEM.
The General Chairperson of IJBA, Fully Aswar, on that occasion expressed his pleasure that the collaborative activity between the TNI, the jetski community, and IJBA could set a MURI record.
"This championship is one of the efforts to cultivate the talents of prospective high-achieving athletes which was opened directly by the TNI Commander," he said.
