Visiting The Formula E Location, Giring Ganesha: This Is An Ambitious Project

JAKARTA - The plan to hold a Formula E event in Jakarta really cannot be separated from polemics. The electric car race is considered a bit impossible to be held this year.

One of the figures who are pessimistic about the plan for Formula E to be held this year is the General Chair of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Giring Ganesha.

The 38-year-old politician said that the construction of the Formula E circuit that was currently underway seemed very forced.

"The Formula E Project is crazy. A very ambitious project. The budget is big, using public money, and the preparation time is very tight. I'm not sure, here, this circuit construction can happen. And if it happened it would have been forced," said Giring on his personal Twitter account.

The Formula E race is scheduled to take place on June 4. The remaining time is only a matter of months, which makes Giring less sure the race can go according to plan.

"Yes, if it is forced, hopefully it won't embarrass Indonesia's good name in the eyes of the international community. How can there be five months left for the circuit to be like this," he said.

Recently, it was known that Giring visited the place where the Formula E circuit was built in Ancol, Jakarta. His activities are immortalized in the form of videos and uploaded on his social media accounts.

In the video, Giring tries to show the current condition of the circuit construction site which is still wallowing in mud. In the midst of this activity, Giring also fell into a puddle.

Giring is known to be very vocal with the ambition of implementing Formula E in Jakarta. During his visit to the construction site, he highlighted many things, including the condition of the site where goats frequented him.
