JAKARTA - Red Bull KTM Factory Racing officially brought in Fabio Di Giannantonio to complete their rider composition in the 2027 competition season. The Italian rider will be paired with Alex Marquez.
The Austrian manufacturer announced that Di Giannantonio's name was included in their rider line-up next season after previously confirming Alex Marquez's name. Both names are tied to multi-year contracts.
"Fabio Di Giannantonio has been confirmed to pair up with Alex Marquez at the new Red Bull KTM Factory Racing starting in 2027," read a statement on their official website.
Currently, Di Giannantonio is in third place in the 2026 MotoGP standings. He is behind the Aprilia duo, Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi, who occupy first and second place respectively.
The 27-year-old racer collected his second MotoGP victory at the Catalunya Grand Prix this season. The record of his first victory in the most prestigious motorcycle race was scored at the Qatar Grand Prix in 2023.
The racer from Rome has also climbed the podium three times from the 10 Grand Prix 2026 that have been held so far and four Sprint Race podiums which make him able to collect 177 points.
Pit Beirer who serves as KTM Motorsports Director said that Fabio has clearly stepped up to become one of the most consistent front-runners in MotoGP.
"We can't question his speed and commitment to giving his best performance. He is a strong team player and a good person, who we know will adapt easily to our project," he said.
Giannantonio will have access to the latest factory-spec GP26 just like Alex Marquez. However, the rider who is familiarly called Diggia has never had the opportunity to race in a MotoGP Factory team before.
In addition to ensuring Diggia's presence, KTM also confirmed that Brad Binder, who won the first Manufacturer team victory in 2020, will leave the Manufacturer team at the end of this year.
Previously, Pedro Acosta had already been confirmed to join Ducati and become a teammate to Marc Marquez, the defending champion who received a new contract.
This announcement makes KTM join Aprilia, Ducati, and Yamaha as teams that have completed their Manufacturer rider line-up for 2027, leaving Honda who have not announced anyone in their main team.
