JAKARTA - The iron fence in the park under the flyover (flyover) of Kampung Melayu, East Jakarta, has been stolen by thieves in the last four days.

"A week ago, the fence was still there, but a few days ago, about three to four days, it was gone, the fence was lost quickly by the thieves," said a resident named Ana (38) in the Flyover Kampung Melayu, East Jakarta, Tuesday, July 7, reported by ANTARA.

He said the perpetrators acted openly at certain times without raising the suspicion of residents. The perpetrators numbered around five people and carried out their actions before dawn and in the afternoon.

Residents who saw the activity thought the perpetrators were official officers who were carrying out demolition or maintenance of park facilities.

"They work casually, that's why people who see it are not suspicious, they are considered officers from the service. So, no one reprimands or forbids," said Ana.

He also admitted that he had seen a group of perpetrators carrying equipment in the form of a sickle and hammer to remove the iron fence from its place.

After being dismantled, the iron was immediately transported using a bajaj that was waiting around the location.

"I saw them carry it on a bajaj that was ready. The money was put on the bajaj, then taken away. The one who took it was not from here, because we didn't know them," said Ana.

He hopes the police. together with related agencies will immediately investigate the alleged theft.

Meanwhile, another resident named Lilis (39) admitted that he had seen a group of thieves numbering more than five people trying to remove the iron fence in the afternoon.

"The position is crowded again, but, yes, we didn't realize they were thieves. Anyway, there are many perpetrators, they take it gradually, over time the iron fence here is getting emptier," said Lilis.

Therefore, he asked that supervision under the Flyover Kampung Melayu be tightened so that public facilities assets are not arbitrarily stolen by irresponsible parties.
