JAKARTA - The chairman of Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR), Herman Hery, welcomed the plan by the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, to recruit Novel Baswedan and 55 Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) employees who did not pass the National Insight Test (TWK), to become civil servants (ASN) for the National Police (Polri).

Previously, the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo planned to recruit 56 employees of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) who were dismissed due to not passing the national insight test (TWK) to become the state civil apparatus (ASN) of the National Police.

Listyo said he had sent a letter to President Jokowi about the plan.

"We have sent a letter to appeal to 56 people who did TWK who did not pass and were not inducted as KPK ASN so that we could withdraw and recruit them to become Polri ASN," Listyo said at a press conference, Tuesday, September 28.

According to him, the National Police need the contribution of the 56 KPK employees to carry out their duties at the Criminal Investigation Unit, especially related to handling corruption.

The National Police Chief also said that the President had replied to his letter and approved the proposal. Furthermore, the National Police were asked to follow up on the proposal to the State Civil Service Agency (BKN) and the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform of the Republic of Indonesia (PAN-RB).

"On the 27th, we received an answer from the President through the Minister of State Secretary (Pratikno) in writing, in principle he agreed to the 56 KPK employees to become Polri ASN," he said.

Meanwhile, 56 KPK employees who do not pass the TWK will be dismissed on September 30, 2021.
