Corruption Suspect Asabri Ilham Wardhana Siregar Dies At Tangerang Hospital, This Is What The AGO Says

JAKARTA - The suspect in the alleged corruption case of financial management and investment funds at PT Asabri, Ilham Wardhana Siregar (IWS), passed away on Saturday, July 31. So, in the near future, the Prosecutor's Office will issue a Letter of Decision on Termination of Prosecution (SKPP).

"The suspect Ilham Wardhana Siregar (IWS) died at An-Nisa Hospital, Tangerang, due to illness," said Head of the Attorney General's Office for Legal Information, Leonard Eben Ezer Simanjuntak in his statement, Sunday, August 1.

With the death of Ilham Wardhana Siregar, Leonard continued, the East Jakarta District Attorney will issue an SKPP in the near future. The issuance is done after receiving a death certificate from the hospital.

"With the death of the late Ilham Wardhana Siregar, the Head of the East Jakarta District Attorney will immediately issue the SKPP," said Leonard.

Separately, the Head of the East Jakarta District Attorney's Office. Ardito said the process of issuing the SKPP would begin early next week. Because the sad news was received on a holiday.

"We will start the process on weekdays," said Ardito.

On the other hand, before his death, Ilham Wardhana Siregar, who had been detained at the Salemba State Detention Center (Rutan) at the South Jakarta District Attorney's Office, was suspended because of his illness. The ban has been carried out since July 21.

"Complained about being sick, then he was dismissed from June 21, 2021," said Ardito.

For information, Ilham Wardhana Siregar is one of nine suspects in the alleged corruption of PT Asabri. He was named a suspect on February 1, 2021.

The determination of the suspect was because Ilham was suspected of being involved, who at that time served as Head of the Investment Division of PT Asabri for the period July 2021 to January 2017.
