Arm Sore Aches After AstraZeneca Vaccination, Anies: Just Drink Paracetamol

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan admitted that he had undergone a COVID-19 vaccination using AstraZeneca. Anies shared his experience after being vaccinated.

In his Instagram account, Anies admitted to having symptoms of post-immunization follow-up (KIPI). He felt sore in his arm.

"Are there any symptoms afterward? Yes, there are, namely soreness in the arms and -as research findings and doctors said - there is a feeling of aches/pains in the joints. It's almost similar to flu symptoms, but without a runny nose and cough", said Anies, Monday, June 28.

Anies then treated him with paracetamol to relieve the aches he was feeling. After that, the symptoms of KIPI are no longer felt.

"It is enough to take the paracetamol that was given during the vaccine, thank God the discomfort is reduced. It lasts for about 1.5 days, after that all symptoms disappear and return to normal", he said.

Unlike other regional heads who are the first to receive vaccinations in their respective regions, Anies has only recently received vaccinations.

The use of AstraZeneca is included in the second and third stages of vaccination, targeting public service workers and vulnerable communities up to the age of 18 years and over.

There is a reason why Anies has just been injected with a vaccine, namely because he has been confirmed positive for COVID-19. Anies was declared exposed to the Coronavirus on November 30, 2020.

This result follows the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, who has previously tested positive since Friday, November 27, 2020.

It was noted that Anies was positive for COVID-19 for one month, longer than the average COVID-19 infection. Anies was declared cured of corona as of December 29, 2020. He was unable to take part in the first vaccination program last January.
