Waiting For Firli Bahuri And Colleagues' Commitment To Attend At Komnas HAM Office Next Thursday

JAKARTA - After throwing arguments regarding the unclear summons made by the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM), the head of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will attend on Thursday, June 17.

Firli Bahuri and colleagues are said to be attending the Komnas HAM office to provide clarification regarding the implementation of the National Insight Test (TWK) which was reported by a number of employees. This assurance was conveyed by the Commissioner for Monitoring and Investigation of the National Human Rights Commission, Mohammad Choirul Anam.

"We announce that there has been a good commitment from the KPK leadership and will come to the Komnas HAM examination process," Anam said at a press conference at his office, Latuharhary street, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, June 15.

Actually, the head of the anti-corruption commission will be asked for clarification today. However, this summons was answered by sending the Head of the Legal Bureau and the Acting Head of the Litigation Section of the KPK on Monday, June 14 yesterday.

Furthermore, in this meeting, Komnas HAM explained the context of the summons that the KPK leaders had disputed. In addition, this meeting also agreed that Firli Bahuri and colleagues would attend on Thursday, although the exact time is not yet known.

"It was agreed about the day, the day is Thursday but the time has not been determined," he said.

With the agreement, Anam hopes that the KPK leadership can attend and provide clarification regarding the alleged TWK implementation. The goal is to make the TWK polemic clear and not protracted.

Moreover, Anam once stated that alleged violations in the TWK implementation process were easy to resolve. Provided that the KPK leadership can be present for clarification as the reported party.

"Hopefully the meeting on Thursday, the taking of information really takes place, and this we at Komnas HAM get a lot of information and clarification and get a more comprehensive explanation," he said.

Regarding the dispatch of the Head of the Legal Bureau and the Acting Head of the Litigation Section of the KPK, it was confirmed by the Acting Spokesperson for the KPK for Enforcement, Ali Fikri. Both of them were sent to ask for clarification regarding what Komnas HAM would investigate.

"The Head of the Legal Bureau and the Acting Head of the Litigation Section of the KPK visited Komnas HAM on Monday, June 14, 2021, to ask for clarification directly on the alleged human rights issues reported by the complainants," said Ali.

At that time, the Commission was received by the Commissioner of Komnas HAM Choirul Anam, the Head of the Legal Investigation and Monitoring Bureau, and the Functional Investigator of the Komnas HAM.

During the meeting, Komnas HAM has provided the necessary explanations and information related to human rights aspects that will be confirmed.

"This explanation was previously not contained in the Komnas HAM reply letter to the KPK," he said.

Furthermore, the KPK will discuss and prepare the information required by Komnas HAM. "This good coordination and communication is a form of KPK's commitment to respect the main tasks of Komnas HAM. It is also to obtain an overview of the information needed by Komnas HAM," said Ali.

For information, the National Insight Test was attended by 1,351 KPK employees. Of these, 1,274 people were declared eligible.

Meanwhile, 75 employees including senior investigator Novel Baswedan, Chairman of the KPK Employee Forum who is also investigator Yudi Purnomo, Director of Socialization and Anti-Corruption Campaign Giri Suprapdiono, Head of the KPK Task Force Harun Al-Rasyid, and Director of PJKAKI Sujarnarko who will retire, were also declared ineligible (TMS). While the other two employees did not attend the interview test.

According to the employees who took this test, there were a number of irregularities in the implementation of the assessment. Including the questions asked by the assessor or assessor during the interview process.

The employees said the questions asked during the TWK process violated the private sphere. These irregularities were later reported by dozens of these employees to Komnas HAM, Komnas Perempuan, to the Indonesian Ombudsman.
