JAKARTA - Fourteen people were injured after two men opened fire at each other in the busy entertainment district of downtown Austin, Texas, on Saturday, June 12, police said.

As reported by Antara, Sunday, June 13, the police added that one of the suspected shooters is still being hunted down.

Shots erupted at around 1.30 a.m. in the Sixth Street area, a popular nightlife hub in the state capital, Austin Police Department Interim Chief Joseph Chacon told a news conference on Saturday afternoon.

"This appears to be an isolated incident between the two parties", he said. "Most of the victims are innocent people".

Police officers who were nearby rushed to the scene. At that location, they applied bandages and performed CPR on the victim, Chacon said.

Two of the injured are in hospital in critical condition and 12 others are in stable condition. There were no deaths, Chacon said.

The Austin Police Department said late Saturday that one suspect had been arrested with the help of the US Marshal Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and that officers were continuing to follow up on leads to arrest the remaining suspects.
