JK Reports Agung Laksono To The Police Regarding The Contestation Of The PMI Chairman: He Is A Habit, Used To Break Golkar

JAKARTA - Jusuf Kalla (JK) who has just been elected back by acclamation as Chairman of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) for the period 2024-2029 reported Agung Laksono to the police.

"PMI must have one in one country, no two, so we have reported it to the police (Agung Laksono)," said JK as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, December 9.

According to him, Agung Laksono's maneuver that made the National Conference (Munas) against PMI 22 was an illegal step.

"It was illegal and betrayal, second, it was Pak Agung Laksono's habit, he broke Golkar, he made a match, but we have to fight it," he said.

JK emphasized that there were no other nominations in the PMI General Chair contestation, and his party had reported Agung Laksono to the police.

"There are no other candidates, they have gone to the police, there are illegal actions that have reported to the police, because they cannot do that, only a few people, we have fired them for violating the AD/ART," he said.

HJ also stated that based on the results of the plenary session held last night, Sunday (8/11), he had been elected by acclamation and the results were still waiting for a formal decision today.

"Yes, all participants want to acclamation like that, but the formality is needed later," he said.

The second Plenary Session of the 22nd National Conference (Munas) of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) 2024 decided and received the accountability report of PMI General Chair Jusuf Kalla, and unanimously asked him to return to serve as General Chair of PMI for the 2024-2029 period.
