JAKARTA - Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Doni Monardo said the government provided assistance in the form of IDR 500 thousand per month for families whose houses were affected and damaged by flash floods in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

"The BNPB and the NTT Provincial Government will provide assistance in the form of temporary housing funds amounting to IDR 500 thousand per family to be given every month", said Doni Monardo in his statement, Wednesday, April 7.

Doni said that this assistance fund can be used by people whose houses were damaged by the disaster in the NTT region to rent a place to live in the house of their relatives.

That way residents do not gather and have direct contact in refugee tents and then spread the COVID-19 transmission.

"Residents whose houses are damaged and cannot be inhabited will be recorded in advance by the local government, such as collecting names, ID cards, and other requirements. If the data has been collected and has been verified, the funds can be given so that residents can immediately occupy the homes of their relatives", said Doni.
