JAKARTA Have experience being an administrator on a banned website, a man in Jelambar, West Jakarta is desperate to build an online gambling site to earn money. His efforts did not bear fruit, five months later he was caught by the police and became a suspect.

"Yes, so this suspect initially worked to manage 'online' gambling in West Jakarta as well, around 2019, about three months," said West Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol M Syahduddi, Tuesday, October 8.

JH began managing the site from May 2024 until it was arrested by officers last Wednesday, October 2.

JH started this activity by renting a judol site whose information was obtained from a program maker (programmer) on social media.

"So, there are people who offer judol sites (online gambling sites), as well as made and the suspect is interested. Initially they rented to the manufacturer of the site program 'Rapi138' and and 'Gacoan79'," he said.

Then, from the results of the profits of managing the judol website, the suspect decided to buy the two sites and continue his illicit business.

"During the action, the turnover was hundreds of millions," he said.

The police then arrested him on Jalan Jelambar Baru, Jelambar Baru, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta on October 2, 2024.

"From the results of this disclosure, investigators confiscated several pieces of evidence, such as a cell phone unit, six monitors, then two CPUs, one keyboard, one 'hard disk'," he said.

Then, he continued, four Key BCAs, two BCA savings books, one BCA ATM card, one EOB ATM card, three TRI SIM cards and 46 Telkomsel first cards and four HT (handy talkies).

For his actions, the suspect can be charged with article 27, Paragraph 2 of Law Number 19 of 2016, in conjunction with Article 45 Paragraph 3 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1 of 2024, concerning the second amendment to Law Number 11 of 2008, concerning Information and Electronic Transactions and or Article 303 of the Criminal Code concerning gambling.

"The threat of a sentence of 10 years in prison," he said.
