JAKARTA - The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) together with PT Pertamina EP found gas and condensates up to 11.871 Million Standard Cubic Feets per Day (MMSCFD) at the Tedong exploration well (TDG)-001, North Morowali, Central Sulawesi.

"Gas and condesate at the time of drilling for Sumur TDG-01 at interval 3, when the flow back was carried out, with promising results," said Head of the SKK Migas Drilling and Well Division, Surya widyantoro, ANTARA, Sunday, October 6.

According to him, the exploration managed to find 136 barrels of condensate per day (BCPD) with a code opening of 44/64 and 13,894 MMSCFD, as well as 202 BCPD with 52/64 openings.

He conveyed that the drilling was then continued with the work of the Drill Stem Test (DST) which was carried out at interval four, with the aim of testing the hydrocarbon content in the Tedong 001 well.

He said the well, which is located in Central Sulawesi, could contribute greatly to increasing oil and gas reserves in the country.

"With this promising result, Tedong wells are expected to contribute significantly in increasing the potential for national oil and gas reserves, as well as supporting efforts to increase Indonesia's energy security," he said.

Furthermore, the Head of the SKK Migas Program and Communication Division, Hudi D. Suryodipuro, said that the findings of gas and condensates in northern Morowali, central Sulawesi were believed to be promising findings with good prospects.

"This shows the potential for oil and gas in Central Sulawesi, it can still be obtained by exploring," said Hudi.

He stated that SKK Migas and Cooperation Contract Contract Contractors (KKKS) in 2024 will continue to explore to increase national oil and gas lifting and production by exploring and exploiting.

This is done so that Indonesia's dependence on oil and gas imports can be suppressed until energy resilience is realized.
