JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk recorded as many as 686,609 vehicles leaving the Jabotabek area on D-7 to D-4 Christmas Day 2024 which falls in the period Wednesday-Saturday (18-21 December 2024).
"This figure is the cumulative number of traffic flows (traffic) from the four Main Toll Gates (GT), namely GT Cikupa (to Merak), GT Ciawi (to Puncak), GT Cikampek Utama (towards Trans Java) and GT Kalihurip Utama (to Bandung)," said Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication and Community Development Group Head Lisye Octaviana as reported by ANTARA, Sunday, December 22.
The total volume of traffic leaving the Jabotabek area increased by 14.6 percent when compared to normal traffic (598,904 vehicles) in the same period. When compared to the 2023 Christmas period, the total volume of this traffic increased by 5.8 percent (648,813 vehicles).
For the distribution of traffic leaving Jabotabek towards the three directions, the majority of 312,092 vehicles (45.5 percent) headed East (Trans Java and Bandung), 216,704 vehicles (31.6 percent) headed for the West (Merak), and 157,813 vehicles (23.0 percent) headed for the South (Puncak).
Traffic leaving Jabotabek heading towards Trans Java via GT Cikampek Utama Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, with a total of 159,169 vehicles, an increase of 36.2 percent from normal traffic.
Traffic leaving Jabotabek heading towards Bandung via GT Kalihurip Utama Cipularang Toll Road, with a total of 152,923 vehicles, an increase of 12.7% from normal traffic.
The total traffic leaving Jabotabek towards Trans Java and Bandung through the two GTs was 312,092 vehicles, an increase of 23.5 percent from normal traffic.
Traffic leaving Jabotabek heading towards Merak via GT Cikupa Tangerang-Merak Toll Road is 216,704 vehicles, an increase of 9.8 percent from normal traffic.
Meanwhile, the number of vehicles leaving Jabotabek heading towards Puncak via GT Ciawi Jagorawi Toll Road was 157,813 vehicles, an increase of 6.0% from normal traffic.
Lisye Octaviana said that on D-4 the Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 holidays (Saturday, December 19, 2024) traffic leaving Jabotabek at four main toll gates were recorded at 195,988 vehicles, an increase of 17.6 percent from normal traffic (166,673 vehicles).
Jasa Marga also recorded an increase in vehicles heading to Trans Java on Saturday (21/12) at GT Cikampek Utama, as many as 50,150 vehicles increased by 59.4 percent from normal traffic (31,458 vehicles).
