Acting Governor Of Central Papua Asks Mimika, Dogiyai And Deyai To Resolve Regional Boundary Disputes

Acting (Pj) Governor of Central Papua Ribka Haluk requested that three districts namely Mimika, Dogiyai, and Deyai resolve inter-regional border disputes to help maintain stability and security in the area.

"So what is not clear is the regional boundaries, namely Mimika and Dogiyai Regencies as well as Mimika and Deyai, so that in the future there will be no social conflict and tension between communities," said Ribka in a press release, Thursday, September 26, which was confiscated by Antara.

In addition, he continued, it also provides affirmation of regional boundaries in order to create orderly administration of government, provide clarity and legal certainty on regional boundaries of an area that meets technical and juridical aspects.

"We have held meetings related to regional boundaries in three districts, so it is hoped that each district will continue because this is important," he said.

He explained, in affirming the boundaries of an area, all rights will not be deleted. Starting from land rights, asset ownership, customary rights, and customary rights to local communities in an area.

"We hope that with the implementation of this regional boundary affirmation discussion meeting, all parties can work together to coordinate and synergize in solving regional boundary problems," he said.
