KPU RDP Together With Commission II Of The DPR 10 September, Will Discuss The Phenomenon Of The 2024 Pilkada Blank Box

The General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia is scheduled to attend a hearing (RDP) with Commission II of the DPR RI to discuss the phenomenon of empty boxes in the 2024 Pilkada on Monday, September 10, 2024.

"We also convey to the President, we will coordinate with the Ministry of Home Affairs and it has also arrived at Commission II on the 10th (September), a hearing (RDP) will be scheduled to discuss how the regions will be if the single candidate pair wins," said KPU RI member August Mellaz when met by media crews at the KPU RI Office, Jakarta, Friday.

The KPU noted that 41 regions have only one pair of candidates for regional heads or single candidates in the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada based on data as of Wednesday (4/9) at 23.59 WIB.

The 41 regions consist of one province, 35 districts, and five cities.

Mellaz said the RDP would also discuss a number of options if the empty box that won the election.

"The empty city won. Well, that will be discussed later on policy options," he said.
