TANGERANG - Dirtipid Narkoba Bareskrim Polri Brigadier General Mukti Juharsa revealed, Roman Nazarenko (RN), a Ukrainian citizen who was involved in a secret narcotics laboratory (clandestine lab) case based in Badung Regency, Bali, is the main actor.

"Yes, he is the perpetrator who has the practice (clandestine lab). Including all controllers," said Brigadier General Mukti in Tangerang, Antara, Sunday, December 22.

Roman Nazarenko, who was previously included in the search for people (DPO), is very strategic. Where he said, he prepared the basement or lab area, financiers and at the same time controllers of drug couriers.

"He is the owner of the goods, he is also the one who made the basement in the villa, Bali and the controller of the courier, which we have arrested at this time," he explained.

Mukti revealed, after being on the run for seven months, the Directorate of Drug Crimes at the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit together with Immigration Thailand finally managed to arrest the perpetrator at U-Tapao Rayong Airport when he was about to fly to Dubai on Thursday (19/12).

He also said that Roman Nazarenko during his escape was known to have been in Bangkok, Thailand for three and a half months.

"Getting this information, the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok immediately coordinated intensively with all stakeholders so that the perpetrators could be immediately returned to Indonesia," he explained.

As a support for the process of disclosing this clinical lab case, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police will conduct further handling and investigation of the suspect Roman Nazarenko.

For the suspect's actions, his party suspects that Article 114 Paragraph 2 Subsidiary Article 113 Paragraph 2 and Subsidiary Article 112 Paragraph 2 Junto Article 132 Paragraph 2 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 Year 2009 concerning Narcotics with the threat of the death penalty or life imprisonment or a fine of 10 billion.

"Now we will take it to Bareskrim for further investigation," he said.
