KPU Waits For Rano Karno's Resignation Letter From The Elected DPR

The General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia is still waiting for the resignation letter for the candidate for deputy governor (readwagub) of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno as a member of the DPR RI for the period 2024-2029.

"What is clear is that until now, has the letter from the person concerned been received or not? I am still waiting," said member of the Indonesian KPU August Mellaz when met by media crews at the Indonesian KPU Office, Jakarta, Friday, September 6, confiscated by Antara.

Selain itu, Mellaz juga mengungkapkan bahwa pihaknya sudah menerima dua surat pengunduran diri untuk maju dalam Pilkada Serentak 2024.

"I don't know if (from) the elected legislative candidate, if I'm not mistaken, there are two letters that have been entered. This has been registered," he said.

Meanwhile, the reading of the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Rano Karno, immediately completed the letter of resignation from the DPR RI to the General Election Commission (KPU) of DKI for administrative requirements to advance in the DKI Jakarta Pilkada.

"All the documents needed are now being prepared," said Spokesperson for the Jakarta Cagub-Cawagub Winning Team, Pramono Anung-Rano Karno, Chico Hakim at Warung Garasi Si Doel, Cilandak, South Jakarta, Friday (6/9).

Chico said his party was collecting administrative requirements according to the deadline set. This step was taken to prove the seriousness of Pramono Anung-Rano Karno to run in the DKI Jakarta Pilkada.

"We are serious about advancing in the Pilkada, it must be taken care of, because that is part of the requirements," he said.

It is certain that as soon as possible the resignation letter will be sent to the next Pilkada process. "In the near future, I don't know exactly," he added.

The candidate for Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Rano Karno, has resigned from his position as a member of Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives to participate in the contestation in the DKI Regional Head Election (Pilkada).

He announced at Tarakan Hospital, Central Jakarta on Friday, August 30.

Pramono Anung-Rano Karno is one of the three pairs of candidates (paslon) for governor and deputy governor in the 2024 DKI Pilkada, apart from RK-Suswono and independent candidate pair Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana.

The Pramono-Rano pair is only supported by the PDI-P and the Hanura Party.

Previously, the DKI Jakarta KPU stated that the three pairs of candidates for Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta 2024 had not met the administrative requirements, so they had to make improvements.

Chairman of the DKI Jakarta KPU, Wahyu Dinata, said that the three pairs of candidates who still did not meet the requirements and had to make improvements for the next three days starting on Thursday, September 5.
