JAKARTA - The candidate pair for Governor-Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana officially registered for the 2024 Pilkada to the DKI Jakarta KPU office on the last day of registration.

Dharma-Kun arrived at the DKI Jakarta KPU office at around 19.20 WIB wearing a white shirt. He was accompanied by the head of his success team, Kamaruddin Simanjuntak, who is known as a former lawyer for Brigadier J.

In his remarks, Dharma asked the election organizers and all those who supported him to pay attention to his steps in undergoing the election contestation. This is intended to match the expectations of the community.

"Please pray for his blessing, please keep us focused on this struggle, not tilted to the right or to the left, only for the glory of Allah SWT, God Almighty," said Dharma at the DKI Jakarta KPU office, Central Jakarta, Thursday, August 29.

Dharma admitted that the process of collecting support as an independent candidate pair until his candidacy was colored by dynamics.

Where, when Dharma-Kun collected hundreds of thousands of ID cards, many residents found their population identification number (NIK) to be used as supporters. This profiteering was found in the KPU Candidate Information System (Silon).

Dharma-Kun was also reported to the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) for profiteering of NIK, although he had argued that the error occurred without his knowledge. Later, Bawaslu decided that Dharma-Kun had not committed a criminal election violation.

"Phase by step we went through with all kinds of problems and dynamics. Where, we arrived at this stage and we arrived tonight also at God's permission and also at the professionalism that has been carried out by all parties who act as organizers," said Dharma.

Earlier on Wednesday, August 28, two Jakarta cagub-cawagub pairs had registered with the KPU, namely Pramono Anung-Rano Karno who was promoted by the PDI-P (PDIP) and Ridwan Kamil-Suswono which were promoted by the Gerindra Party, PKS, Golkar, NasDem, PKB, PSI, Democrat, PAN, Perindo, PPP, Garuda, Gelora, and PBB.

The KPU has scheduled Pramono-Rano to undergo a medical examination at the Tarakan Regional General Hospital (RSUD), Central Jakarta, on August 30 starting at 07.00 WIB.

Meanwhile, the Ridwan Kamil-Suswono couple are scheduled to undergo a health check the next day on August 31 at the same time.

The DKI Jakarta KPU stated that all the requirements included by the two candidates for governor and deputy governor are complete. Furthermore, the KPU began to verify the registration administration until September 5, 2024.
