Bahlil Airin's Response Was Carried By PDIP In The Banten Gubernatorial Election: We Respect The Political Decision

JAKARTA - General Chairperson (Ketum) of the Golkar Party Bahlil Lahadalia appreciates the nomination of his cadre, Airin Rachmi Diany, who has the support of the PDI-P (PDIP) to run as a candidate for governor in the Banten Pilkada.

Bahlil said that Airin's candidacy had become a dynamic within the party bearing the banyan tree. However, he ensured that the Golkar Party should not limit the political rights of every citizen.

"And we respect the political decision, we cannot violate it," said Bahlil as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 26.

According to him, the former mayor of South Tangerang is a good Golkar Party cadre and an extraordinary woman figure. Officially announced, according to him, it is very likely that Airin will register for the Banten Pilkada together with PDIP.

"I think it's okay," said the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources.

Previously, PDIP provided support to Airin Rachmi Diany and Ade Sumardi as candidates for governor and deputy governor in the 2024 Banten Pilkada.

This was conveyed by PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto at the PDIP DPP office, Jakarta, Monday.

"Furthermore, with the permission of the Chairperson of the PDI-P, Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri, we will announce the candidate for governor and deputy governor representing the regional head candidate. What I call her name, please stand up," said Hasto.

"From Banten Province, Mrs. Airin Rachmi Diany was accompanied by the Chairman of the Banten PDI-P DPD Ade Sumardi," he continued.

According to him, Banten is currently excited because on Sunday (26/8) yesterday, the people have confirmed the two pairs to run in the 2024 Banten Pilkada.
