Disappointed Police, There Is An RT In East Jakarta So Residents' Brawl Provocateurs

The East Jakarta Metro Police managed to detect the cause of the increasingly massive brawl in the East Jakarta area. This was due to the lack of active role from the local RT and RW administrators in anticipating brawls.

"We feel disappointed with the participation of the head of the RT. There has been a brawl, then they report it. Sometimes they know, but they don't report it," said East Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Nicolas Ary Lilipaly, Thursday, October 8.

The police chief admitted that he was disappointed that there were regional officials (RT) who were not responsive to brawls that often occurred in East Jakarta.

"After we disbanded, they just said that. This is very sad," he said.

The police chief asked the East Jakarta City Government to promote the role of the head of the RT to anticipate brawls.

"This must be optimized again," he said.

In fact, the Mayor of East Jakarta, M. Anwar, said the same thing. Anwar actually found the involvement of the management of one of the RTs in East Jakarta who was suspected of being the provocateur of the brawl.

"I found that one of the RTs was the provocateur. If the residents were attacked, he (RT) would be noisy, but if the residents attacked, they would be left alone," said the Mayor of East Jakarta, M. Anwar.

Anwar said that his party would remind all neighborhood units (RT) and neighborhood units (RW) not to become provocateurs who can trigger brawls between residents.

Anwar said that the person who carried out the provocation already had legal rules. It remains only to be handed over to the police to take action against him.

Anwar appealed to the entire community, RT, RW, urban village deliberation institutions (LMK), as well as community early alert forums (FKDM) to maintain their environment properly.

For students or residents involved in brawls, continued Anwar, social assistance will be revoked, either a smart Jakarta card (KJP) or other social assistance.

"This is based on DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation No. 110 of 2021 concerning Social Assistance, for those involved in the brawl, social assistance will be revoked. This is a deterrent effect for brawlers," he said.
