JAKARTA - The Surakarta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) and Sebelas Maret University (UNS) formulated a roadmap for the concept of agglomeration in the Solo Raya area.

Chairman of the Surakarta City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ferry Septha Indrianto in Solo, Central Java, quoted from Antara, Sunday, July 28, said that on the roadmap Kadin photographed and formulated three integrated economic development sectors consisting of investment, tourism, and the creative industry.

"We see that there are three main sectors that support the realization of the Solo Raya agglomeration which can encourage sustainable economic growth and ensure that every element of Solo society is involved inclusively," he said.

He said the concept of the Solo Raya agglomeration covering the Boyolali Regency, Sukoharjo Regency, Karanganyar Regency, Wonogiri Regency, Sragen Regency, and Klaten Regency was contained in the Central Java Province RPJP document for 2025-2045.

In the early stages, Kadin encouraged stakeholders in the region to carry out five joint economic development agendas.

"These five agendas are the Solo Raya Investment Forum, Solo Raya Tourism Forum, Solo Raya Business Forum, Solo Raya Creative Expo, and Solo Raya Great Sale," he said.

He hopes that at this early stage the agglomeration roadmap can have an impact on increasing investment, increasing the number of tourists, the number of SMEs, and increasing the number of upgrading creative businesses.

"This is in line with the results of the projection of Greater Solo's economic growth by UNS if agglomeration is realized," he said.

He noted that Solo is one of the regions able to record positive economic growth in Indonesia. In 2023 the Solo economy grew 5.57 percent. This figure is higher than the national economic growth which recorded a figure of 5.05 percent.

Meanwhile, he hopes that the Solo Raya agglomeration roadmap, which in its preparation is chaired by UNS academic Kuncoro Diharjo, can be a reference for national and regional government policies in carrying out regional development.

"Thus the government can build Solo Raya which is integrated, efficient, dynamic, and adaptive," he said.

He said the formulation of the roadmap had also been submitted to the elected Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka at the welcoming event some time ago.
