Make Sure Anies Will Be Carried Out, PKB: Now Is The Time For The Party To Sit Together

JAKARTA - Deputy General Chairperson (Waketum) of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Jazilul Fawaid ensured that the Party Leadership Council (DPP) would announce the nomination to Anies Baswedan as a candidate for Governor of DKI Jakarta.

Anies had previously proposed the DKI Jakarta PKB Regional Leadership Council (DPW) to be promoted by his party. However, currently Anies has not received a letter of recommendation for the suspension from the PKB DPP.

"Yes, the DPP supports Pak Anies. In time, it is just announced," said Jazilul at the PKB DPP office, Central Jakarta, Monday, July 22.

Moreover, according to Jazilul, his party still has enough time to inaugurate Anies' nomination until the registration period for regional head candidates to KPU 27-29 August.

"What is clear is that the important people of DKI know the aspirations to support Pak Anies have been conveyed by the DKI PKB DPW from the beginning of the month (June)," said Jazilul.

Therefore, Jazilul emphasized that the important thing at this time is how political parties carrying Anies meet to formulate a coalition agreement in the DKI Jakarta Pilkada.

"Hopefully now it's time for Pak Anies' supporting parties to sit down together. So this is their own declaration. Each declaration, now sitting together, complements the completeness of a candidate," he said.

So far, there have been 3 political parties that intend to carry Anies as a candidate for the Governor of DKI Jakarta, namely NasDem, PKB, and PKS.

Only PKS has offered cawagub to accompany Anies. PKS carried Anies in the Jakarta gubernatorial election and paired him with the Deputy Chairman of the PKS Syuro Council Sohibul Iman.

Meanwhile, NasDem and PKB have not yet determined who the candidate for deputy governor will be Anies' companion. NasDem handed over Anies to vote. PKB wants the party to sit down together in determining its cawagub.

"Take care of it first. It's not a matter of sreg or not sreg. But, sit together first who the representatives are who the DKI people want and who the PKB wants," concluded Jazilul.
