TANGERANG The legal process for the murder of Resy Ariska, a Muslim clothing shop keeper, with the suspect Nada Diana, a white Yaris driver on Jalan Borobudur, Kelapa Dua, Tangerang Regency, has arrived at trial.

The Public Prosecutor (JPU) charged the defendant, Nada Diana with life imprisonment, for being found guilty of committing the murder of Ariska with a sword.

The Head of General Crimes (Kasipidum) of the Tangerang District Attorney's Office, Herdian Malda, said that the Prosecutor had demanded a maximum accordance with Article 338 of the Criminal Code with a threat of 15 years in prison.

"Indeed, the facts at this trial, we prove that Article 338 of the Criminal Code carries a maximum threat of 15 years. That's why today we demand 15 years (imprisonment) so we maximize it," said Malda, Thursday, July 18.

Malda explained that the aggravating thing for the defendant in the murder case was when he gave a long-winded statement.

"The aggravating thing is more dominant, because the defendant is long-winded, so it is burdensome. Well, in the consideration of the aggravating public prosecutor, it is more dominant," he said.

Meanwhile, the victim's legal team, Saiful Alim, said that his party accepted the demands given by the prosecutor. However, the family hopes that the defendant will be sentenced to 20 years.

"Hopefully the family will actually not only be 15 years, if it takes more than 20 years or life, otherwise we will still feel that this must be life-substitute. Because if it is only 15 years, according to the family, it will not destroy it. In our opinion, lives are very expensive, invaluable by price, "he said.

Repeating previous information, Nada Diana stabbed Resy Ariska, a Muslim clothing shop keeper on Jalan Borobudur, Kelapa Dua, Tangerang Regency to death on the spot. For his actions, the defendant was charged with Article 338 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 351 of the Criminal Code.
