UI Affirms No Matches And People In Independent Line Selection

DEPOK - University of Indonesia (UI) emphasized that there is no jockeying practice during the exam or through the help of insiders in the selection of new students through independent selection channels

"Every year almost always there are various issues related to the implementation of the UI Entrance Selection (SIMAK). The UI New Student Admission Office also receives many questions about various issues circulating in the midst of society," said Head of the Public Relations and Openness Bureau of UI Amelita Lusia, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 16.

Among these issues, he said, the most disturbing and damaging concentration of prospective new students is the news that parties claim to be able to help someone be accepted into UI. Not infrequently, the party offering the assistance also claims to be an insider of UI.

He explained that in organizing self-selection, UI considered and paid close attention to the possibility of this disobedience, including the combined use of UTBK scores and SIMAK scores (50 percent of UTBK scores and 50 percent of SIMAK scores) in determining a person's graduation through independent selection channels for Regular Classes.

UI also pays attention to the fairness and consistency of the scores obtained by a selection participant when participating in UTBK and when participating in SIMAK. In addition, UI also has a mechanism to minimize the potential for fraud by test participants in participating in SIMAK.

In terms of independent selection of the FKUI International Special Class, those who pass the SIMAK UI Writing Examination must take the next two tests, namely MMPI and MMI.

With a test stage like this, he said, it is common for a participant with a high SIMAK Online score to finally fail because the results of the MMPI and MMI tests are not good or lose well compared to other participants.

"If people find or know that an individual has committed or tried to commit any form of adultery and fraud, they can officially report it to UI so that it can be followed up," he said.

If it is proven to have committed adultery or fraud, then UI will take appropriate action.

Amelita explained that the announcement of SIMAK UI results for the Regular Bachelor and Vocational Program will be held on July 26, 2024.
