Bocor Chemicals At Kuala Lumpur Airport, 20 People In Medical Care

The chemical leak at the aircraft engineering facility at the Kuala Lumpur international airport in Malaysia affected 20 people.

"There is no interference with airport operations," said the Selangor state fire department.

Those affected experienced dizziness and were taken for medical treatment, the fire department said in a statement, without providing further details about the chemical leak.

"There is no interference with airport operations or the risk to public safety," a fire brigade spokesman told Reuters on Thursday, July 4.

The department received an emergency call regarding a chemical leak at the Sepang South Support Zone Aircraft Engineering facility at 11.23 am local time and sent personnel along with a team to deal with dangerous materials.

As many as 20 people affected were airport personnel, the department said.
