Seeing His Wife Burned, The Perpetrator Even Cursed, Romli: 'If I Wasn't An RT, I'd Have Killed Him'

TANGERANG Romli, Head of RT 05/03, on Jalan Irigasi, Cipondoh, Tangerang City said that Sulissetiawan (40), did not feel guilty of setting his wife on fire, Suci Rahmawati (21). Luckily Suci is still safe, but Sulissetiawan insists he is innocent.

"He doesn't feel guilty. There is no fear. There is no regret. After burning, (He) even asked for medicine," Romli said when met at the location, Monday, July 1.

In fact, said Romli, when his wife was on fire and the residents poured water so that it would be extinguished, the perpetrator screamed for his wife to wake up even though it was on fire.

Then after being extinguished, the perpetrator woke the victim. This irritated local residents with the alleged behavior.

"His wife's people are still on the back, he even said 'Wake up you!!!' Should have been taken to the hospital. This was forced by him (the perpetrator) I saw clearly," he said.

"But my citizens are good, no one is taking justice into their own hands. But in my heart, 'if I'm not an RT, I've told him'," said Romli, who was annoyed with the perpetrator.

After that, the perpetrator was arrested by residents. The police were also contacted for the next process, namely bringing the perpetrator.

"Bhabinkamtibmas came, the perpetrator was arrested and then taken to the police station," he said.

The case of the husband burning his wife on the terrace of the house on Jalan Irigasi, Cipondoh, Tangerang City was triggered by a trivial matter. Although the victim is still safe, what Sulissetiawan (40) did to his wife, Holy Rahmawati (21) has been considered nightless and life-threatening.

The head of RT 05/03, Romli, said that the problems experienced by husband and wife were only because their husband could not wait long for his wife to take care of photocopies of a number of administrative documents for moving residents. This, according to him, makes the perpetrator emotional.

"The noise was because his wife went to the photocopy site, because he didn't go home for a long time, then the key was taken. Maybe he photocopy wanted to take care of the file (administrative documents for people's transfers). Maybe male emotions, misunderstandings," Romli explained to reporters on Jalan Irigasi, Cipondoh, Tangerang City, Monday, July 1.
