Tambora Subdistrict With The Second Most Online Gambling Players In Indonesia, The Camat Claims To Be Difficult To Monitor Its Citizens

JAKARTA - A number of sub-districts in Jakarta are in the spotlight because they are included in areas where residents are most exposed to online gambling. One of them is Tambora, which is the sub-district with the second most online gambling players in Indonesia.

Tambora sub-district head Holi Susanto admitted that it is indeed difficult to keep an eye on residents who are addicted to online gambling.

Because, they should play using ordinary cellphones. Different from the past who played gambling conventionally, such as using cards, dice, and so on

"We, the apparatus, find it difficult to detect online gambling games because they could do it indoors while watching TV with their families or at a coffee shop while chatting with their friends," Holi told reporters, Monday, July 1.

Holi assessed that the cause of Tambora District is the sub-district with the most online gambling players because the area that has the most population. Then, the online gambling activity is carried out independently by unscrupulous residents by using their cellphones.

"Initially it was possible to try, the fun of winning one or two times, finally becoming addicted," explained holi.

Along with this, Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono ordered all levels of regional apparatus in Jakarta to suppress the circulation of online gambling in their respective areas.

In Tambora, Holi said that his party through various officers such as RT-RW devices, PP cadres, LMK, and youth organizations were conducting education to the public to avoid online gambling and explain the negative impacts.

"Our hope is that people will no longer play or be tempted by the lure of being able to come big from the judol's playing activities, as well as residents who have played so that they can stop because they can damage morals and matrials and can be dark eyes, sell all household furniture so that they have more capital to play gambling," he explained.

Previously, the Head of the Online Judi Eradication Task Force who is also the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Hadi Tjahjanto revealed that the district with the highest exposure to online gambling was South Bogor District with 3,720 players and transactions reached Rp349 billion.

Then the sub-districts that were exposed to online gambling were the second to seventh highest in Jakarta, namely Tambora District with 7,916 players with online gambling transactions of IDR 196 billion, Cengkareng District with 14,782 perpetrators with money outstanding IDR 176 billion.

Furthermore, Tanjung Priok District as many as 954 players with transactions worth Rp139 billion, Kemayoran District as many as 6,080 players with transactions worth Rp118 billion, Kalideres District as many as 9,825 players with transactions worth Rp113 billion, and Penjaringan District as many as 7,127 players with transactions worth Rp108 billion.

"These idols have penetrated to the village level, village level, and the modus operandi is that the sale and purchase of accounts and refills include them," Hadi explained in a press conference on Tuesday, June 25.

"In action, we immediately gathered the sub-district heads, village heads, village heads to participate in eradicating and must be responsible that in their area they are used as nests to play online gambling, especially their citizens," he added.

Meanwhile, districts/cities with the highest online gambling transaction value in Indonesia are West Jakarta, which is IDR 792 billion.

Regencies/cities with the second highest online gambling transactions are Bogor City with a transaction of Rp612 billion, then Bogor Regency Rp567 billion, East Jakarta Administrative City Rp480 billion, and North Jakarta Administrative City Rp430 billion.
