JAKARTA - Endah N Rhesa presents their latest music work with the title Terang Bulan. This single is part of the mini album they are preparing.
Previously, Merelakanmu which discusses the process of a person facing the loss of a loved one, Terang Bulan is the next phase, when a person has lived through the days after the loss, trying to accept the reality, and needs time to be able to recover feelings.
The lyrics of this new song try to capture moments that often go unnoticed, namely when the night arrives, the hustle and bustle subside, and there is nothing left but the voice of one's own heart. In that quiet space, various questions, doubts, and attempts to remain strong arise even though they do not fully know how to face tomorrow.
Endah N Rhesa reflected on herself while writing this song. Being in a dynamic phase of life and not being young anymore, the fear of losing becomes more real. The sad news that comes back and forth from the closest people makes them more aware that life is always moving, and humans can only learn to accept things that are beyond their control.
"I often do the process of reflection and introspection at night. There is a sense of comfort that arises in the middle of silence, when distractions begin to decrease and I can pour out emotions without feeling awkward because I have to go back to being active. At that moment I can be more honest with myself and slowly get a sense of freedom," said Endah through a written statement received by VOI, August 10.
Through "Terang Bulan", Endah N Rhesa does not try to offer an answer to loss. This song actually invites its listeners to accompany the process, which often takes place in silence, namely accepting that sadness, fear, and doubt are part of the journey to becoming a human being.
Meanwhile, Endah N Rhesa's upcoming EP is titled Menyambut Matahari, which is scheduled to be released in the next few months. Containing five Indonesian-language songs, this mini album records an emotional journey about loss, acceptance, and hope.
"This mini album feels more sad than our previous works. Maybe because it follows the phase of life we are living. But it is through these songs that we feel we have the space to pour everything. It feels relieving," said Rhesa, bassist and producer of Endah N Rhesa's songs.
Starting today, "Terang Bulan" can be listened to on various digital music services.
