Mother's Story Of Selling Gold For Children To Enter School In The New Academic Year

JAKARTA - Along with the many needs for children to face the new school school year, family gold sales transactions in East Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan are currently increasing.

"I sell gold jewelry for the cost of children entering school, one child in junior high school and the other in high school," said Evi, quoted from Antara, Sunday, June 30.

According to Evi, he was forced to sell gold for school fees for his two children. He sells jewelry in the form of a 999 gold bracelet which was purchased at a price of Rp900 thousand per gram and is currently sold at a price of Rp1.18 million.

"There is a advantage when selling because the current price of gold has increased. The proceeds from the sale of gold jewelry are used to buy necessities at home and prepare for the children's costs to go to school later," said Evi.

Evi hopes to buy gold jewelry when the price drops again. He prefers to be able to save in gold.

Mama Devan also said the same thing. According to him, he was forced to sell the earrings of his baby's child, in the form of gold poles weighing two grams.

"The money is around Rp. 1 million. This is my son who is already willing to enter elementary school (Basic school). So he has to prepare books, stationery, bags and uniform clothes," said Mama Devan.

Yasmin, owner of the Yasmin Gold Shop, said that there has been an increase in residents who have sold gold jewelry in the last three months. He continues to accommodate residents who sell precious metals or gold jewelry.

"The average seller's answer is the same, preparing for the needs of children to enter school, there are also because they graduated from elementary school and want to go to junior high school, some graduated from junior high school and some graduated from SMS to prepare for college," said Yasmin.

According to Yasmian, he bought gold with pieces starting at IDR 10,000 and a maximum of IDR 20,000. Everything depends on the condition. If there is a purchase note, it can be deducted by IDR 10,000. If there is no purchase note, it can be deducted with a maximum discount of IDR 20,000.

For now, we buy at a price of Rp1.18 grams. Meanwhile, the selling price of gold from our shop is Rp1.2 million for 999 or 24 carat gold, and Rp500,000 for gold poles or gold 375 or 9 Karats," said Yasmin.
