Today Jakarta Is Raining Evenly, BMKG Urges Residents To Stay Alert

JAKARTA Rain again flushed the DKI Jakarta area on Thursday, December 19. Based on weather forecasts released by the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), light rain is predicted to be evenly distributed throughout the capital city throughout the day.

According to information from the official website bmkg.go.id, the air temperature in Jakarta is estimated to be in the range of 24 to 29 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the humidity level was recorded to be quite high, namely between 75 and 93 percent. This condition not only provides air that feels damp, but also adds to the potential for rain at several points.

Light rain is predicted to hit all areas of Jakarta, starting from Central Jakarta, North Jakarta, West Jakarta, East Jakarta, to South Jakarta. This condition has been felt since morning and is expected to last until the evening.

Even though the intensity is light, Jakarta residents are advised to remain careful of the potential for puddles at several vulnerable points.

BMKG also noted that increasing air humidity is one of the main factors that supports the occurrence of rain. With humidity reaching 93 percent, the potential for local rain or sporadic in the area around Jakarta is also not negligible.

Light rain may not interfere with activity significantly, but people are still advised to prepare equipment such as umbrellas or raincoats, especially for those traveling using two-wheeled vehicles or walking.

Wet road conditions can also increase the risk of traffic accidents. Therefore, motorists are expected to remain careful and maintain vehicle speed.

In addition, the high humidity of the air also has the potential to affect health, especially for those who have breathing problems. Doctors advise people to keep their ventilation in the house good and avoid direct exposure to moist air for too long.

BMKG urges Jakarta residents to continue to monitor the latest information about weather through their official channels, including websites, social media, or weather applications provided. such as preparing rain equipment, checking vehicle conditions, avoiding areas prone to puddles or flooding, and making sure the waterways around the residence are not clogged to prevent puddles that can cause local flooding.

As a big city that often faces flood challenges during the rainy season, light rain like today is a reminder for the government and society to continue to maintain preparedness. Although the intensity of rain is not too high, some areas with poor drainage can experience temporary puddles.

BMKG also reminded that the end of December to January is the peak of the rainy season in Indonesia, including Jakarta. Therefore, collaboration between the government and the community is needed to minimize the bad effects of weather.

With the weather expected to continue to rain for the next few days, the people of Jakarta are advised not to panic, but remain vigilant and prepare the necessary anticipatory steps.
