East Jakarta Metro Police and Jatinegara Police have assigned personnel to Jalan Basuki Rahmat (Bassura), North Cipinang Besar Village, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta, after a brawl between two groups of residents on Thursday, June 27, morning.

"Police officers are still on standby around the scene, the situation at the location is safe," said Acting Jatinegara Police Chief, AKP Joko Witono when confirmed.

Joint officers guarded from Thursday morning until evening to prevent further clashes.

The police also asked both parties to exercise restraint and return to their homes.

"We will continue to improve patrols and urge all citizens to work together to maintain security and order in their environment," he said.

Previously, it was reported that two groups of residents of RW 01 and RW 02 were again involved in brawls and attacked each other using stones, firecrackers and other objects on Jalan Basuki Rahmat (Bassura), North Cipinang Besar Village, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta, Thursday, June 27.

"This brawl occurred starting with the existence of mocking each other from each group. Then, there was an action of revenge with the previous action," said East Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Nicolas Ary Lilipaly when confirmed.

The brawlers used various objects such as stones, firecrackers and sharp weapons. The brawl that occurred at 05.30 WIB also disturbed local residents and road users who crossed the road.
