Emma Watson has resurfaced in public. The Harry Potter star was joined by Prince William and Benedict Cumberbatch at the United for Wildlife business forum in London.

As reported by People, quoted Tuesday, June 23, the event was held on Monday, June 22, as part of London Climate Action Week. United for Wildlife is a program of The Royal Foundation that focuses on wildlife protection.

Emma Watson was not there for a film affair. The 36-year-old actress spoke about storytelling, brands, and transparency in environmental issues.

"Telling stories is so powerful. The stories you tell as a brand, the transparency you have, and the way you talk about these issues, it's important," Emma Watson said, as quoted by People.

"That's important for young people," he said.

At the event, Emma Watson appeared with Prince William, Benedict Cumberbatch, and host June Sarpong. They discussed the natural world and the shared responsibility to protect it.

Emma Watson has previously also supported the Earthshot Prize, an environmental program initiated by Prince William. In 2021, she presented the Fix Our Climate award at the program's inaugural event in London.

The Earthshot Prize awards 1.4 million US dollars to the winners in five categories. The funds are used to support environmental solutions. The program is designed to run for a decade.

At the forum, Emma Watson also told a funny story during the Harry Potter era. She thought a number of men with long camera lenses were hunting her to take a photo.

Turns out, they're not paparazzi.

They came to photograph a rare bird called a red kite that was allegedly in the backyard of his house. The red kite is a protected predator in the UK.

"The guys with the long lenses were actually not there for me at all," Emma Watson said.

Outside the film world, Emma Watson is known for being active in climate issues and gender equality. She was appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador for UN Women in July 2014 and participated in launching the HeForShe campaign.

In 2019, Emma Watson also teamed up with Time's Up to support a legal advice service for women in the UK who have experienced sexual harassment in the workplace.

"Understanding your rights, how you can enforce them, and the options you have if you experience harassment are a really important part of creating a safe workplace for everyone," Emma Watson said at the time, quoted by People.
