The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has started an investigation regarding the alleged corruption of the President's Social Assistance (Bansos) for Handling COVID-19 in the Jabodetabek area in 2020.

"This is the development of the social assistance distribution case which has recently been decided by the Corruption Court, this is in the context of procuring presidential social assistance related to handling COVID-19 in the Greater Jakarta area at the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia in 2020," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika.

Tessa said that in this case, KPK investigators had named one suspect, namely Ivo Wongkaren (IW).

He also said the initial calculation of state financial losses due to the alleged corruption crime reached Rp125 billion.

In the same indictment, the prosecutor also charged the Advisory Team of PT Primalayan Teknologi Persada Roni Ramdani and General Manager of PT Primalayan Teknologi Persada Richard Cahyanto.

Roni Ramdani was charged with imprisonment for 10 years and a fine of Rp. 1 billion, subsidiary to 12 months in prison, while Richard Cahyanto was sentenced to 7 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 1 billion, subsidiary to 12 months in prison.
