There Are 3 Head Of Drug Sub-Directorates Among 34 Personnel Transferred By The Metro Jaya Police Chief

JAKARTA - Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto transferred or rotated 34 members. Of the dozens of names, three of them are the Head of Sub-Directorate (Kasub-Directorate) of the Directorate of Drug Investigation.

The three are AKBP Bariu Bawanga; AKBP Wahyu Hidayat; and AKBP Malvino Edward Yusticia. They were transferred as Pamen Yanma Polda Metro Jaya.

The mutation was stated in the Telegram Letter (ST) number ST/429/XII/KEP.2024 which was signed by Karo HR Kombes Muh. Dwita Kumu Wardana on behalf of the Metro Jaya Police Chief, dated December 25, 2024.

The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi, who confirmed the mutation of the dozens of members, confirmed it. However, it was not clearly conveyed about the reasons behind the rotation of the ranks.

Referring to the ST, dozens of policemen who were transferred were in the context of being investigated. Allegedly related to the extortion case of Malaysian citizens who are spectators of the 2024 Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP) concert.

"It's true (mutation and rotation of 34 members)," said Ade, Thursday, December 26.

The case of alleged extortion of spectators at the DWP concert is known to have been withdrawn to the Propam Police Headquarters. Based on information from the Head of the Propam Police Division, Inspector General Abdul Karim, there were 18 policemen involved.

Dozens of police extorted 45 foreigners from Malaysia. In addition, the National Police Propam found evidence of extortion by dozens of police officers reaching Rp2.5 billion.

"I need to clarify this as well. That the amount of evidence that we have secured is 2.5 billion rupiah. So don't let it be like the previous news, which is quite large," said Karim.

The police who are suspected of being involved in extortion will be tried on ethics or the Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP). The plan is that the trial will be held next week.

However, it is not certain about the time of implementation. The reason is that the National Police are still focused on securing Christmas 2024 and New Year's 2025.

"We agreed that at the DivPropam we will try this case, which we plan to hold next week, a code of ethics trial will be held which we will hold next week," said Karim.
