JAKARTA - Indonesian Vice President Ma'ruf Amin continued his working visit to Sorong City, Southwest Papua, Wednesday, June 5. This activity was carried out after a series of activities in Wamena, Papua Mountains, were completed.

The vice president and a limited group using the Indonesian Air Force Hercules aircraft with a capacity of 40 people arrived at Domine Eduar Osok Airport, Sorong, on Wednesday, June 5 at 13:45 WIT.

The Vice President's arrival was welcomed by Acting Governor of Southwest Papua Mohammad Musa'ad and Mrs. Andar Mohammad Musa'ad and members of the Southwest Papua Regional Leadership Coordination Forum along with their respective companions.

The arrival of the Vice President was also treated to the performance of the dance welcoming guests of honor.

At 14.00 WIT, Vice President Ma'ruf went to a hotel in Sorong City by car.

Vice President Ma'ruf Amin's visit to Papua is part of the central government's efforts to accelerate development and the welfare of the local community, as well as directly monitor development developments in the area.

The Vice President's agenda today in Sorong is an audience and the handover of scholarship assistance at three campuses including IAIN Sorong, IAIN Fattahul Muluk Papua, and Cenderawasih University.

In addition, the Vice President will also attend the inauguration of the Regional Committee for Sharia Economics and Finance (KDEKS) of Southwest Papua Province, visit Malawei fishermen's settlements to review and hand over family logistics packages, and attend the inauguration of the Papua Development Acceleration Master Plan (RIPPP) and the Papua Development Acceleration Information System (SIPP).
