Two Illegal Parking Officers Of The Istiqal Pungli Mosque 'Rp150 Thousand' Turns Out To Be Residents Of The New Market, Bowed Down After Being Arrested By The Police

The Sawah Besar Police have arrested two illegal parking attendants who abused the tourism bus driver in the Istiqlal Mosque area, Sawah Besar District, Central Jakarta, Monday, May 13. Two perpetrators with the initials AB (19) and R (26), a resident of Pasar Baru Village, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta, did not move and lowered their heads in front of reporters. They were arrested by the police after going viral asking for parking rates of Rp. 150,000 to a driver.

"Both of them asked for some money for bus drivers who parked wildly on Jalan Area in front of the Istiqlal Mosque," said Sawah Besar Police Chief, Kompol Dhanar.

The incident began during a career on Thursday, April 18 at around 04.00 WIB, there were two perpetrators with the initials AB and J in front of the Istiqlal Mosque. They are making arrangements for illegal bus parking to visit the Istiqlal Mosque.

"One of the tourism buses from Jambi was asked for a sum of money at a rate of Rp. 150,000 to bus drivers. Then the bus driver reported to the person in charge of the tourist group," he said.

Then the group in charge reprimanded the illegal parking attendants and recorded a video using his cellphone.

"There was a debate or argument between AB and the person in charge of the tourists," he said.

Then after the incident, there was a Facebook account that uploaded a video when the group in charge of tourists reprimanded AB and J.

"On Sunday 12 May, AB and J were arrested by the Sawah Besar Police. AB and J have admitted their mistakes. Then both of them made a statement not to repeat their mistakes again," he said.

Previously, it was reported that thugs and illegal parking attendants in the Istiqlal Mosque area were increasingly troubling the public. The reason is, the thugs who claim to be guards of the illegal parking lot of the car set parking rates of up to Rp. 150 thousand rupiah to a motorist who parked on the road.

The illegal levy action went viral on the Instagram account @romansapirtruck. In the video footage, a motorist can be seen refusing to pay parking fees of up to Rp. 150 thousand.

The driver also recorded the incident and was involved in a heated debate with a number of thugs who claimed to be illegal parking attendants.

In fact, the illegal parking attendant admitted that there were parties responsible even though the parking lot was a illegal parking area.

Even as of last Sunday afternoon, May 12, the whereabouts of the thugs who claimed to be guards of illegal parking were still at the location. They did not receive firm action from the relevant authorities.

Other visitors who use parking on the road are also still charged a parking fee of IDR 50,000.

According to Maya, one of the tourists from Jambi, she was also asked to pay a parking fee of Rp. 100,000.

"Earlier, I was also asked for Rp. 100,000, then I came here to pray for Rp. 50,000, I debated the parking attendant who was wearing boxes. He was busy asking for Rp. 50,000 from the driver, I said here to talk to me. Then finally asked for Rp. 30 thousand," Maya said when confirmed, Monday, May 13.
