JAKARTA - Tencent has opened global access to its latest artificial intelligence model, Hy3. Users around the world can try out the AI model for free through WorkBuddy until the end of August.

China Daily, quoted Thursday, August 6, reported that Tencent announced the expansion of Hy3 access on Wednesday. This step makes the model more accessible to users, developers, and global companies.

Hy3 was released on July 6. Since its launch, this model has begun to enter various third-party developer platforms, including Hermes, Kilo, Cline, OpenClaw, OpenCode, and Cherry Studio.

The AI model is also available from day one in open source model communities, such as Hugging Face and ModelScope.

Tencent said Hy3 has a total of 295 billion parameters and 21 billion active parameters. Parameters are components in an AI model that help the system read patterns, understand commands, and generate answers.

Hy3 also supports context lengths up to 256K. In AI, context means the amount of information that a model can read and process at one time.

According to Tencent, Hy3 has performance comparable to flagship models that have two to five times more parameters.

The claims include reasoning ability, instruction understanding, context-based learning, code creation, and agent capabilities. An AI agent is a system that can carry out certain tasks more independently based on user instructions.

China Daily said Hy3 recorded more than 68 times the number of API calls compared to the previous generation model. API is a path that other applications use to connect to AI models.

Within a week of its launch, Hy3 also ranked first globally in the OpenRouter global LLM usage list. LLM is a large language model that is the basis of many generative AI services.

Tencent Cloud Senior Vice President and Head of Tencent Cloud International Poshu Yeung said Hy3 is an important step for Tencent Cloud International to help organizations use AI more practically.

"Hy3 marks an important step in the way Tencent Cloud International helps organizations go beyond the AI experimentation stage and implement artificial intelligence in a practical, reliable, and scalable way," said Yeung.

According to Yeung, Tencent wants to connect advanced models with real-world needs, technology for corporate needs, flexible model arrangements, and secure infrastructure.

"By connecting advanced models with real-world scenarios, enterprise-grade engineering, flexible model orchestration, and secure infrastructure, we aim to give companies the control and reliability they need to move from pilot projects to large-scale deployments," said Yeung.
